MARCH ON PAC ENDORSES JON OSSOFF (D-GEORGIA) IN BATTLEGROUND STATE OF GEORGIA TO UNSEAT REPUBLICAN DAVID PERDUE

Ossoff Endorsed for His Support of Healthcare, Criminal Justice Reform, Climate Action, Pro-Choice Protections and Other Critical Progressive Issues in an Effort to Remove Perdue, Who Repeatedly Attempts to Demean Democratic Vice Presidential Candidate Senator Kamala Harris

WASHINGTON, D.C. —March On PAC today announced its endorsement of Democrat Jon Ossoff for Senate to represent Georgia, aiming to flip the seat in November. The political action committee created by March On continues to endorse candidates who support efforts to Take Back the Senate, Hold the House and Reclaim the Presidency this November. Ossoff is native Georgian and small business owner dedicated to improving the lives of fellow small business owners and families across the state.

Ossoff sees healthcare as a necessity and plans to give all Americans the option for public health insurance. In the wake of COVID-19, it has become clearer than ever before that all Americans should have access to high-quality, affordable healthcare. While citizens across the country continue to fight the pandemic on their own with little to no help from the current administration, David Perdue and the GOP are attempting to take healthcare from millions of Americans. According to a recent report from the Department of Public Health in Georgia, the state is now reporting more than 351,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19. These are Georgians who need healthcare and whose illness will be considered a preexisting condition—which insurance will no longer be required to cover if Perdue and his fellow Republicans succeed. Ossoff is dedicated to fighting for healthcare rights and will ensure that those rights are not revoked.

Ossoff’s stances on other critical issues include:

  • Protecting women’s rights to choose by supporting only federal judges who plan to uphold Roe v. Wade
  • Fighting for equal rights for the LGBTQ+ community, defending marriage equality and expand federal anti-discrimination laws
  • Working to reform the criminal justice system by fighting to pass the new Civil Rights Act, end race and class discriminations in the criminal justice system, and reverse the militarization of local police.

Endorsement of Ossoff, along with seven additional recently endorsed candidates ( Mike Kelly, D–Arizona; Theresa Greenfield, D–Iowa; Mike Espy, D–Mississippi; Steven Bullock, D–Montana; Cal Cunningham, D–North Carolina; Jaime Harrison, D–South Carolina; and MJ Hegar, D–Texas) would flip seats in traditionally red states, help Democrats take back the Senate and represent strong voices in support of police reform, criminal justice reform, voting rights, economic justice, healthcare reform, climate change legislation, gun violence prevention, pro-choice protections and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).
